3. LIFE CYCLE GARDENING: Does your career and the demands of daily life leave you short on time?  Do you have the time to do everything in the garden yourself or is your time spent in the garden limited?  Life brings many changes and as your life evolves; your home and garden often reflect these changes.

Join members of the Sudbury Garden Club as Betty Sanders, a lifetime master gardner and nationally accredited flower show judge, takes us through the stages of Life Cycle Gardening.  She will provide you with a road map for a walk through the various stages of gardening and show you how to use your spare time to create your dream garden.

The public is invited to attend free of charge.  Refreshments will be served prior to the program which will be held on Wednesday, January 9th at 9:45 a.m. at the Goodnow Library, 21 Concord Road, Sudbury.  For more information, visit  www.sudburygardenclub.org.

4. WHAT TO CELEBRATE TODAY: Today is Play God Day. To mark this day, we suggest that you do something good that will make a difference. Anything that fits this definition is appropriate. You do not have to make it something miraculous. It can be something simple, like visiting someone who is ill, or helping someone in need. Giving God thanks or a prayer is also appropriate for this day.

5. THIS DAY IN HISTORY: 1861 - The state of Mississippi seceded from the United States; 1951 - The United Nations headquarters officially opened in New York City; 1986 - Kodak got out of the instant camera business after 10 years due to a loss in a court battle that claimed that Kodak copied Polaroid patents; 2006 - Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane received stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in a dual ceremony.
