Welcome Home Spc James 'Jake' Eckersley

Lincoln-Sudbury graduate served in Southern Iraq.

Specialist James "Jake" Eckersley is returning home after three years of service to the United States Army.

After graduation from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School in 2009, Jake enlisted as a Calvary Scout and was sent to Fort Knox, Ky., for basic training. He was awarded soldier of the month November 2010.

He was then assigned for further training at Fort Hood, Texas, in early 2010, and deployed to Southern Iraq in 2011.

Once home, Jake expects to start college in January.

Eckersley is the son of Nancy who lives in Sudbury. His father, Dennis, resides in Ipswich with Jake's stepmother, Jennifer. He also has two sisters, Allie and Mandee.
