Where Should A Crosswalk Be Added in Sudbury?

Contribute to a lively conversation by posting a comment below.

Recently we asked residents in Sudbury which streets were the worst when it comes to speeding drivers.

Residents weren't shy to express their concerns, as the comments section was flooded with opinions.

Now, we would like to ask readers: Where should a crosswalk be added in town?

What do you think? Let us know by posting a comment in the comments section below.

The problem as I have seen, isn't WHERE a cross walk should be added but DRIVERS not giving full attention to driving! I have seen more people with their cell phones in their hands - in front of them - and driving. There is NOTHING that has to be read or responded to while driving a machine that can kill in an instant. PULL OVER if something needs your attention. STOP when you see someone in a crosswalk waiting to cross. Pay attention to the road and your surroundings - it is not only for your safety but the safety of all. We could all use a little refresher on the rules of the road from time to time.

Put it in close proximity to the crossing-guard's station.

I would put the cross walk on Abbey Road.

There is a crosswalk on Hudson Road at the intersection of Crystal Lake Drive, Ronald Road and Hudson Road, but it is still very dangerous to cross the road there. If you are crossing from the Ronald Road side of Hudson Road, there is a telephone pole impeding the view of drivers approaching from the west. And if you are crossing from the Crystal Lake Drive side of the road, the drivers approaching from the east have trouble seeing you because their view is partially blocked by trees on their side of the road and the fact that they are coming around a relatively sharp curve. Given the speed and amount of traffic on this stretch of Hudson Road, I think the town should take another look at this particular intersection to ensure that drivers have a clear view -- and ample notice -- of this crosswalk from as far away as possible.
