2nd Annual Sudbury Monument Clean Up

In honor of Military
Appreciation Month and in preparation for Sudbury’s Memorial Day Celebration, the Sudbury Military Support Network hosted the Second Annual Monument Cleanup event this past Saturday, May 10, 2014.  We had
11 volunteers who worked to weed, prune and mulch eight of Sudbury’s ten
Monuments including the Wadsworth, World II, Korean and Vietnam Monuments at Wadsworth Cemetery and the Militia, Revolutionary War, World War I and 9/11
Memorials
in Town Center.

In addition to
the spring cleanup, volunteers planted red geraniums generously donated by Bartlett’s
and decorated each monument with American Flags provided by Sudbury’s Veterans
Agent, Gary Brown.  Bill Place and his
DPW team
generously volunteered to remove all the debris collected from the
spring cleanup.  We want to thank all our
volunteers including:  Maryanne Bilodeau,
Patty Houpt, Rick Houpt, Deb Hurtig, Sarah Hurtig, Thom Kenney, Carrie Kenney,
Maryann Kenney, Caitlin Kenney and Steve Sundquist.

The Memorial Day Parade begins at 9:30 with activities at Heritage Park starting at 11:30. Be sure to come out and support
Sudbury’s Veterans.  For more information
