Children's Author to Visit Goodnow Library

CHILDREN’S AUTHOR TO VISIT GOODNOW LIBRARY

David Fleming will be coming to the Goodnow Library on Thursday, January 23rd at 7:00PM.  Mr. Fleming’s first book, The Saturday Boy, was published in 2013 and has received wonderful reviews including a starred review from The Horn Book. The Saturday Boy is the story of Derek, a fifth grader who is having a hard time at school. His best friend has begun bullying him and his beloved father is serving in Afghanistan. Through his participation in the school play he finds some new friends to help him through a devastating time.

Mr. Fleming will read from his book and then answer questions. Barnes and Noble will be selling the book and refreshments will be served.  Admission is free.  This should be an enjoyable program for upper elementary and middle school students.
