Community Corner

Scholar Series at Congregation Beth El

As part of the 50th Anniversary celebration, Congregation Beth El of Sudbury presents an In-house Scholar Series. Three Beth El members who are teachers in the broader community will share their stories of their connections to Beth El, their evolving Judaism, and the interrelationship between Judaism and their life's work.

On Wednesday January 30, from 7:30 – 9:00 pm, the second speaker of the series, Sheila Katz will present, “Beyond Words”. In her own 38 years of connection with Beth El, Sheila has watched the community nurture the foundations of Jewish contemplative practice that now flowers in Jewish communities all across the nation. She will talk about the intertwined histories of Beth El and of Jewish contemplative practice while also providing guidance for direct experience of Jewish meditation.
