Holy Conversations - Planning for End-of-life Care

The Holy Conversations series is designed to help
people of all ages begin to think about what they want in the event of a
serious accident or end of life situation. The first discussion in the series will
be focused on how to think about and start planning for end-of-life or serious
medical treatment care.

While 80% of people say that if seriously ill, they would
want to talk to their doctor about end-of-life care and 82% of people believe
it is important to put their medical wishes in writing, only 23% have actually
put their wishes in writing and 44% have not communicated their end-of-life
wishes to their family.

Participants in this workshop will be guided to think about
what they want in terms of comfort, treatment, involvement in decision-making,
and intervention.  Materials from The
Conversation Project will be used to guide participants through this
process.  People of all ages are invited
to come on February 9 at 9:00 to begin the journey of thinking about what you want and then how to have these holy conversations with your loved ones.

The Holy Conversations series is open to the
public and will take place at Congregation Beth El, 105 Hudson Road in Sudbury.
