LEOMINSTER, MA (December 9, 2013) – Planet Fitness, the innovative health club franchise known for its Judgement Free Zone® and affordable prices, today announced a brand new 20,000 square foot space of the Leominster club, which will be opening Friday, December 13 at 975 Merriam Avenue.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Monday, December 16 at 5:30 p.m. with Leominster Mayor Dean Mazzarella and Danni Allen, the winner of the most recent season of NBC’s The Biggest Loser. Danni will be at the event from 5:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. to help Planet Fitness celebrate the occasion and share her inspirational story. At the event, existing and new members can also enter to win a variety of raffle prize giveaways, including a Planet Fitness-branded mountain bike, a 32” HD plasma TV, one of two 6-month Planet Fitness memberships, or one 1-year Planet Fitness membership.

Additionally, now through December 31, members can join for just $1 down and then $10 a month. Planet Fitness prides itself on offering an affordable membership and a Judgement Free Zone®, where members are welcomed by a comfortable, non-intimidating environment. Each club also features a “Lunk Alarm,” a purple and yellow siren on the wall used to enforce the policy of no grunting, dropping weights or judging others.

The Leominster Planet Fitness expanded its original space from 6,000 sq. feet to 20,000 sq. feet and will offer 100 pieces of cardio equipment, new fully equipped locker rooms with day lockers and showers, two massage chairs*, 22 full size flat screen televisions,a 30-minute express circuit, 2 Hydro-massage beds*, new tanning booths and more tanning beds, and a Total Body Enhancement booth*. The club will be open 24 hours, five days a week and 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Membership includes a variety of other benefits, including unlimited small group fitness instruction by a certified trainer through the PE@PF® program. In addition, as a member appreciation gesture, Planet Fitness provides free pizza on the first Monday of every month, and free bagels on the second Tuesday of every month, while supplies last.
