Summer Arts Under The Umbrella

Let your creativity be your guide this summer with The Umbrella
Community Arts Center’s summer programs. This summer The Umbrella is
offering three programs for families to choose from: Summer Arts Under
The Umbrella, Musketaquid Afternoon Outings, and Summer Arts & Rec.

Summer Arts Under The Umbrella (July 7 - August 29, ages 4 - 13)

Summer
Arts Under The Umbrella, an arts education day program for ages 4 – 13,
offers arts for every interest. Guided by experienced instructors who
are also practicing artists, arts educators, and teachers, children have
the opportunity to try Drawing & Painting, 2D Mixed Media, 3D Mixed
Media, Ceramics, Art & Nature, Performance and
Woodworking/Workshop. Each week features unique projects designed to
engage campers’ creativity and artistic spirit. A trained Teacher’s
Assistant leads each age group and gets to know each child. SAUU runs
from July 7 through August 29.

Musketaquid Afternoon Outings (July 7 - August 29, ages 6 - 12)

Children
can also spend the afternoon exploring nature with Musketaquid
Afternoon Outings, a new afternoon program that takes the weekly Summer
Arts Under The Umbrella themes outside. Nature will be the inspiration
for this program’s art projects, and campers will learn about local
wildlife, make on-site nature art, journal, write stories, and build
projects. Example activities include Gardening for Art at the Umbrella,
creating a summer yurt from reclaimed wood and tree branches, daily
outings to local open space areas, weaving, painting, sculpting,
printing and playing games.

Arts & Rec (July 7 - August 15, ages 5 - 12)

For
a summer of Arts and Sports, the Summer Arts & Rec program for ages
5 – 12 returns this year, from July 7 through August 15. The Umbrella
Community Arts Center and the Concord Recreation Department Summer Camp
have partnered to offer this program, which combines a half-day Arts
Program with a half-day Recreation Camp. Children begin the day with
Concord Rec for activities that include sports, games and more. Then
they join The Umbrella for lunch and an afternoon of creative
exploration. Children will also participate in “All Camp Field Trips”
and Field Days with Concord Rec.

Families may sign up for
individual weeks or for the full eight-week program, allowing
flexibility to plan around family vacations or summer camp schedules.
Full-day, half-day, and extended day options are available. Be sure to
note that Summer Arts Under The Umbrella, Musketaquid Afternoon Outings,
and Summer Arts & Rec each require their own registration.
Registration for each week closes on the Monday one week prior to the
week of enrollment.
