Scenes from the 2013 HOPEsudbury Telethon and Auction

$71K was raised for The Hope Fund, which provides emergency financial assistance to Sudbury residents.

The 12th annual HOPEsudbury Telethon and Auction was held Nov. 2 at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School.

The majority of funds raised through the telethon support HOPEsudbury’s flagship program, The HOPE Fund, which provides emergency financial assistance to Sudbury residents.

Last year the Fund distributed $39,000 to 59 Sudbury families who had fallen on hard times. Residents apply for confidential assistance through the Sudbury town social worker, with most requesting funds to cover basic needs such as utilities, rent/mortgage and medical expenses.

Close to 100 performers took to the spotlight in the high school auditorium from noon to 10 p.m., which was broadcast live on Comcast Channel 8 and Verizon Channel 31, and streamed on sudburytv.org.
