This Weeks News from the LS Boys Swim Team.

The Lincoln-Sudbury boy’s swim team earned another victory against the Newton South boy’s swim team on Friday night.

The meet began with the 200 yard medley relay in which the Warriors finished first and third. The first place team was Nick Genovese, Chris ‘T’ McGean, Tom Edwards and Jack Walker. The other L-S team was that of Ben Cehelsky, Kevin Kennedy, David Cincotta and Seth Joachim.

The first individual event of the night was the 200 yard freestyle in which the L-S boys dominated the field, finishing first, second and third.

The 200 yard individual medley was next in which Edwards came in first, Kennedy in fourth and McGean in sixth. Freshman Brian Knightly also swam the event for the first time this season.

The meet continued with the 50 yard freestyle. The Warriors swept this event, with Knightly in first, Billig in second and Walker in third.

The diving came next in which the Warriors’ Nick Wilkins and Kevin Henderson finished in first and second, respectively.

After diving the 100 yard butterfly was next. Billig finished in second, Hogan in third and Kennedy in sixth.

The 100 yard freestyle was swum next in which Knightly came in first, Rakitin in second and Cincotta in sixth.

The 500 was swum next in which the Warriors dominated the middle of the pack. Thomas came in second, Genovese in third and Knightly soon after in fourth.

The L-S boys swam the 200 yard freestyle next. The team of Walker, Knightly, Rakitin and Billig finished first. The other L-S team of Knightly, Kennedy, Joachim and Wilkins finished soon after, coming in third.

The 100 yard backstroke was next, and was the last scored event of the night for the Warriors. In this event Hogan came in first, Cehelsky in fourth and Cincotta in fifth.

The 100 breastroke was not scored but competitors included Edwards, McGean, Wilkins and Yamron.

The night was ended with the 400 yard freestyle relay in which Billig, Knightly, Rakitin, Edwards, Yamron, Wilkins, Cehelsky and Thomas all competed.

The final score was 97-74, in which the Warriors were victorious.
