Ann Scala, 95, of Sudbury, will be honored on August 4 during a funeral mass.

The following is an obituary courtesy of Duckett Funeral Home of J.S. Waterman.

Ann (Motta) Scala, 95, of Sudbury, MA formerly of Dumont, NJ and a proud native of Brooklyn, NY died with her family and friends at her side on July 5, 2014 on Cape Cod.

Ann was predeceased by her loving husband Louis (1984) to whom she was a devoted life partner and caregiver for many years.

Ann was a long-time parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Dumont where she was a member of the Rosary and Altar Society. In her later years she was a faithful member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Sudbury and the Sudbury Senior Center.

Ann was a founding employee of Bloomingdales, Hackensack from 1959 to 1984.

Blessed with a wonderful singing voice, Ann enjoyed singing along to the American Song Book at home and she would still entertain family and friends on special occasions. Wonderfully spirited, Ann was blessed with a loving support system, especially Andrea Shown, which enabled her to live independently until shortly before her passing. Although proclaiming her "retirement" from family cooking at age 90, Ann's touch in the kitchen will always be present for her family.

Ann is survived by her loving daughter, Francesca Gallagher of Chatham, MA, her devoted son, Richard (Noreen) of River Edge, NJ. Four grandchildren, Kirsten Dean, Megan Glynn, Jason Scala, and Drew Scala. Five great-grandsons and Jared Leger will also miss Nana.

Visitation from 3-6 PM on August 3rd at Duckett Funeral Home, 656 Boston Post Road, Sudbury, MA 01776. A funeral mass will be held on August 4th at 11 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 160 Concord Road, Sudbury MA 01776.

In lieu of flowers Ann's family would like her memory to be honored with donations to either:

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater North Jersey Chapter, 1 Kalisa Way, Paramus, NJ 07652 or the Visiting Nurses Association of Cape Cod- Hospice, 255 Independence Drive, Hyannis, MA 02601.
