Retired Raytheon Employee Worked in Sudbury for 37 Years

Donald Bruce McElwee held an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and worked for Raytheon in Sudbury for 37 years.

The following is an obituary courtesy of Gillooly Funeral Home.

Donald Bruce McElwee, 76, of Norwood and West Dennis, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 12, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Norwood, May 27, 1938, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Jean (Reardon) McElwee. Donald was the beloved husband of Teresa (McNulty) McElwee of Norwood; the loving father of Steven McElwee and his wife, Ana of Worcester, Michael McElwee and his wife, Tina of Huntsville, AL and Kathleen and her husband, Frank Losapio of Wellesley; the dear brother of Neal McElwee and his wife, Joan of Foxboro; the cherished grandfather of Joseph, Elizabeth, Connor and Abigail McElwee and Anthony and Maria Losapio; and the uncle of three nephews.

Donald held an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University and worked for Raytheon in Sudbury for 37 years until his retirement in 2005. A Funeral Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 16, at the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St., Norwood.

Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, June 16, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
