Support for Christine Hogan

I am so excited to express support for my longtime friend, Christine Hogan, as a candidate for Sudbury Public School Committee.  A resident of Sudbury for over 20 years where Bill and I raised our two daughters, I have been disheartened with some changes that have taken place in our wonderful town.

Sudbury has had a reputation primarily centered on the strength and vibrancy of our schools. However, I am one of many residents who feels as though we have been left with more questions than answers over the last few years. For instance, why does it seem that the SPSC is more concerned with administration instead of the teachers who work directly with our children? Why are we cutting teaching positions instead of reducing class sizes? What plans are in place for our schools which have slipped in MCAS rankings from Level 1 to Level 2? Why are our taxes increasing when enrollment is decreasing?  I am worried about the effect this will soon have on our home values and how it will affect our seniors.

Christine is acutely aware of the connection between the performance of our schools and its connection to student success, taxpayer reassurance, and healthy property values.  She is not afraid to be tough in her search for truth and answers, but she is unfailingly committed to making sure that parties affected by SPS policies know that their voices are heard and their questions are answered. It is time for some new voices on SPSC, and Sudbury would benefit greatly if one of them is Christine Hogan.
