Bridle Path Resident Reports Gargoyle Stolen from Lawn

The following information was supplied by the Sudbury Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

The Sudbury Police Department is investigating a larceny that occurred on the front lawn of a Bridle Path residence.

According to Lt. Scott Nix, a resident of the home walked into the station on Monday to report several items were missing from her front yard.

Among the items missing are:

  • 4-foot-tall sun dial
  • gargoyle
  • bird bath
  • planters
  • wheel barrel
  • yard tools.

Nix said the resident estimated the value of the missing items at "a few hundred dollars."

The case is under investigation.

In other police news from Monday:

  • A Ford Road resident reported snow stakes were pulled out of the ground.
  • An officer dispatched to Dutton Road for a possible disabled motor vehicle came upon a one-car accident. A motorist struck a utility pole but was not injured. The car was towed from the scene.
  • A Pine Street resident and a tow company operator were having a dispute over payment for a AAA tow. The dispute was resolved prior to officers arriving.
  • Officers responded to a one-car accident on North Road. A motorist struck a deer but was not injured. The deer ran into the woods prior to the officers' arrival.
