Marlborough Man Faces License Charge in Sudbury

The following arrest information was supplied by the Sudbury Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A motor vehicle stop by the Sudbury Police Department on Aug. 3 resulted in the arrest of a Marlborough resident.

At about 5:39 p.m., an officer on patrol on Concord Road ran a plate check on a motor vehicle through the mobil data computer in the cruiser, Chief Scott Nix said.

After an investigation was completed, Mauricio Cardoso, 49, of 45 Harrison Place, Apt. 1, was arrested and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

He was released at 9:32 p.m. and was scheduled to be arraigned on Aug. 5.

In other police news from Aug. 3:

  • A Boston Post Road business reported a male and female possibly shoplifted items from the store and left in a vehicle with a young child in it. Area police departments were notified but the couple were not found. The case is under investigation.
  • A Boston Post Road resident reported the theft of a debit card. A number of transactions totaling less than $1,500 were completed. A suspect has been identified, Nix said.
