UPDATED: Motorist Dies From Injuries Suffered in Sudbury Crash

Accident occurred at 11:20 a.m. on Oct. 31.

Sudbury Police Chief Scott Nix said the lone occupant involved in a one-car crash on Maynard Road earlier today has died.

"At approximately 11:20 a.m., we received numerous 911 calls regarding a single-car crash vs. a tree," he said. "The single occupant sustained serious to life-threatening injuries, that unfortunately resulted in his passing."

Nix said the identification of the motorist would not be released pending notification of next of kin.

"The State Police Reconstruction Unit was notified and responded to the scene to assist in the investigation, which remains ongoing," he said. 

The motorist was taken to Emerson Hospital.

A one-car accident on Oct. 31 on Maynard Road has left one person hospitalized.

According to Lt. Robert Grady, the male driver struck a tree at about 11:20 a.m.

After emergency personnel responded, the motorist was taken to a local hospital with "serious to potential life-threatening injuries," Grady said.

State Police detectives also responded to help reconstruct the accident.
