Road Work to Impact Sudbury Drivers Friday and Saturday

Wayland's DPW is preparing for paving work, and shutting down a road that leads into Sudbury.

Sudbury Police Chief Scott Nix warned residents that a road closure in Wayland will impact drivers heading into Sudbury this weekend.

The Wayland Department of Public Works will be closing Route 27 from the Sudbury town line to Route 20 on Friday and Saturday from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. for pavement preparations.

Police said that detours will be set up directing drivers to alternative routes while the road is closed.

If driving on Route 27 south, drivers will be directed to Concord Road southbound to Route 20 eastbound, Nix said.

Anyone driving north on Route 27 from Wayland into Sudbury will use the same detour, only in reverse.

"It is recommended you seek additional routes and/or plan for any delays that may be experienced," police said. "By conducting the work at night it is hoped to have a minimal impact."
