Son's 911 Call Leads to Domestic Arrest of Mom's Husband

The following arrest information was supplied by the Sudbury Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 911 call to the Sudbury Police Department on Sept. 14 from a Sudbury resident's adult son resulted in the arrest of a local man.

According to Police Chief Scott Nix, the son called the department just after 8 p.m. on behalf of his elderly mother, who lives at 393 Peakham Road.

After responding officers completed an investigation, Richard Shapiro, 66, of the same address, was arrested and charged with:

  • Intimidating a witness;
  • Threatening to commit a crime;
  • Assault and battery on an elderly or disabled person.
Shapiro was released at 12:26 p.m. on Sept. 15 and was scheduled to be arraigned at Framingham District Court on Sept. 16.

This isn't the first time Shapiro is facing domestic charges. In January 2011, he was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a disabled person and intimidating a witness.
