Sudbury Firefighters Knock Down Large Brush Fire

Flames consumed about 1.5 acres, according to scanner reports.

Sudbury firefighters knocked down an extensive brush fire on Saturday night while also battling water access issues.

Scanner reports provided by Twitter user @NEFirebuff indicated that the brush fire on Dutton Road spanned 1.5 acres just after 8 p.m. Firefighters were reportedly having trouble accessing water to the area initially.

Marlborough firefighters assisted while mutual aid from Wayland and Weston covered the station.

The brush fire was knocked down before 9 p.m., but firefighters were expected to continue wetting the area as a precaution.
