Sudbury Hit With Rash of Car Breaks on Wednesday

The Sudbury Police Department received four reports of car breaks on Wednesday, with two possibly involving the theft of thousands of dollars, Lt. Robert Grady said.

At 8:32 a.m. and 11:45 a.m., workers from a company that rented two trailers on Old County Road said numerous items, ranging from equipment to stock items, were stolen.

Grady said it's likely the items stolen are valued at more than $1,000.

At 4:21 p.m. and 7:20 p.m., residents on Pennymeadow Road reported their cars were broken into sometime during the overnight hours.

Grady said the department was still waiting for a complete list of items missing from the cars.

All four cases are under investigation.

In other police news from Wednesday:

• An Atkinson Lane resident reported he was a victim of identity theft. Grady said someone opened an account under the resident's name.
• Officers responded to a two-car accident on Boston Post Road. No one was injured.
• Officers again responded to an accident on Boston Post Road where a motorist struck a deer. There was minor damage to the car. The deer fled into the woods.
