Sudbury Man Arrested on Domestic Violence Charge

A call to the Sudbury Police Department on Monday regarding a domestic dispute resulted in the arrest of a local man.

At about 5:06 p.m., officers were dispatched to Dutton Road to investigate the alleged dispute.

The person wanted for questioning in the dispute had left the scene prior to the arrival of officers, Lt. Robert Grady said.

"The person returned to the police station to explain his side of the story," Grady said. "Afterward we still had probable cause."

William M. Sheehan, 50, of 372 Dutton Road, was ultimately arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery against his wife.

He was released at 9:45 p.m. and was scheduled to be arraigned at Framingham District Court on Tuesday.

In other police news from Monday:

• Police followed up a larceny investigation on Market Lane where jewelry was alleged stolen from a home.
• Several Mill Village offices had an attempted break-in, with some showing signs of an actual break-in, Grady said. Nothing had been reported missing as of noon on Monday. Police are investigating.
• A Mossman Road resident reported a case of check fraud.
• An extended care facility on Boston Post Road reported two cases of larceny. Cash was allegedly stolen, Grady said.
