Sudbury Man Indicted by Grand Jury

Richard Shapiro was arrested Sept. 14 in Sudbury multiple charges.

A Sudbury man arrested in September has been indicted by a grand jury, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan announced.

Richard Shapiro, 66, was charged with assault and battery on a disabled person, intimidation of a witness (two counts), and threatening to commit a crime (two counts).

A 911 call to the Sudbury Police Department on Sept. 14 from a Sudbury resident's adult son resulted in his arrest.

According to Police Chief Scott Nix, the son called the department just after 8 p.m. on behalf of his elderly mother, who lives at 393 Peakham Road.

Richard Shapiro was arraigned at Framingham District Court on Sept. 16.

The Assistant District Attorney is Heidi Gosule.

This isn't the first time Shapiro is facing domestic charges. In January 2011, he was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a disabled person and intimidating a witness.
