Sudbury PD Assists in Drug Sting That Nabs 50

The arrests followed a 3-month undercover investigation.

A three-month investigation by Marlborough Police and other agencies has resulted in 50 people being arrested and charged with more than 300 drug-related crimes, according to a press release.

The undercover operation targeted street-level dealers whose activities are most visible to city residents, Marlborough Police said, and who pose the greatest risk to the public. In total, the investigation involved nearly 100 purchases of narcotics using an undercover officer in the Marlborough, Hudson and Framingham area.

Detectives infiltrated an organized group involved in heroin distribution in the Framingham, Marlborough and Hudson area, according to police.

On Wednesday, members of the Marlborough Police, Hudson Police, Sudbury Police, Central Middlesex Area Criminal Task Force and the federal Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms worked together to locate 26 people using warrants through the Marlborough District Court. 

Suspects were charged with offenses including: conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act, distribution and/or possession of a class A drug (heroin), of a class B drug (cocaine), of a class C drug (Hydrocodone), of a Ccass D drug (marijuana), of a class E drug (Xanex), distribution within a school zone, intimidation of a witness and larceny over $250.

Officers conducted searches of six homes in Marlborough and Hudson, which resulted in the seizure of cell phones, cash, computers and vehicles. A loaded, large-capacity firearm was recovered from a suspect in Marlborough.

The investigation was led by Marlborough detectives Jack Manning and Brian Langelier and by Hudson detective Scott Chaulk.

According to Sudbury Lt. Robert Grady, Sudbury detectives assisted Marlborough detectives during an ongoing operation in arresting one Marlborough resident at the Wayside Inn in Sudbury .

Juan Cor Diaz, 20, of 22 Belmont St., had a warrant out of Marlborough District Court to face charges of distribution of a class D substance. He was arrested at 7:51 p.m.
