Waltham Man Arrested After Trying to Flee From Sudbury Police
The following arrest information was supplied by the Sudbury Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
With assistance from the Massachusetts State Police K-9 unit, a Waltham man was arrested Sunday night in Sudbury after trying to evade officers during a traffic stop.
According to Sudbury Police Lt. Robert Grady, an officer on patrol on Boston Post Road witnessed a car going at a high rate of speed at about 10:19 p.m.
The operator refused to pull over as police were forced to use stop sticks to halt the driver.

After the stop sticks were used, the operator ran from his car near the Land Rover dealership and into a wooded area.
Grady said State Police brought in its K-9 unit to help track down the suspect.

Carlos Enriquue Arevalo Lopez, 36, of 8 Maple St., was eventually caught and now faces charges of:
- Marked lanes violation
- Unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle
- Speeding
- Operating under the influence of liquor
- Failure to stop for a police officer
- Operating to endanger.
Lopez was bailed out at 1:44 a.m. on Monday and was scheduled to be arraigned later in the day at Framingham District Court.
