Wayland Man Nabbed on 2nd OUI Charge in Sudbury

The following arrest information was supplied by the Sudbury Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A motor vehicle stop by the Sudbury Police Department on July 10 resulted in the arrest of a Wayland man.

According to Lt. Robert Grady, an officer on patrol on Union Avenue heard a loud noise and witnessed a motor vehicle driving with a flat tire, which is illegal.

The officer also realized the motor vehicle matched a description of a car Marlborough police were looking for in connection with an accident regarding a guard rail.

After the Sudbury officer pulled over the motor vehicle and completed an investigation, Sean P. Haffey, 23, of 3 Williams Road, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operating under the influence of alcohol (second offense);
  • Drinking alcohol from an open container in a motor vehicle;
  • Failure to display a registration sticker.
Marlborough police assisted at the scene, but Grady did not know whether Haffey would face charges in Marlborough.

Haffey was released at 8:02 p.m. and was scheduled to be arraigned at Framingham District Court on July 11.
