Have Something to Tell the Board of Selectmen? Office Hours Provide Your Chance

Chuck Woodard and Larry O'Brien will be holding office hours on June 18.

Got something you want to say to the Board of Selectmen about how the town is run? You'll have your chance later this month.

Board of Selectman chairman Chuck Woodard and member Larry O'Brien will each hold office hours on Wednesday, June 18, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. inside the Flynn Building's Silva Conference Room.

The office hours are a part of the Board of Selectmen's Citizen's Comment Procedure, which take place every month in order for residents to discuss items with members.

Office hours are not considered public meetings and each month there will be no more than two members in attendance at the sessions.

Instead, the town says, they are a "casual, open time for general discussions with board members."

Selectmen office hours were started in October 2013 and were instituted on a trial basis.

Is there something you would want to speak with Selectmen Woodard and Selectmen O'Brien about? Will you attend office hours? Why or why not? Do you believe office hours help with government transparency? Let us know in the comments section below.
