LETTER TO THE EDITOR: All of Sudbury Should Attend Town Meeting

League of Women Voters says it supports numerous articles, including those in regards to town center and the Rail Trail.

The League of Women Voters of Sudbury encourages every Sudbury voter to attend Town Meeting, which starts Monday, May 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

The League supports 13 articles on the 2012 Town Meeting warrant, based on League positions taken after studies and consensus by its members.

We support Article 14 on town center traffic improvements.

The League also supports all of the articles involving the Community Preservation Fund, Articles 24 through 33, including the recommendations for the Pantry Brook Farm preservation restriction and for the purchase of the property at 15 Hudson Road in the Town Center.

The two non-binding resolutions covering the Rail Trail, Articles 34 and 35, also have the backing of the League.

The League only takes positions after study of an issue. The League does not have positions on the other articles before Town Meeting and therefore does not officially support nor oppose any other articles.
