Selectmen Give Town Green Light to Fund L-S Softball Field Project

Sudbury will pay $256K of the $274K price tag.

Renovation of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School’s softball field will be funded by the Town of Sudbury after the Board of Selectmen and L-S agreed to a late accord.

“There’s been a lot of back and forth with this,” Chariman John Drobinski said at the Board’s July 30 meeting, which was taped by SudburyTV.

The renovations, with a price tag of $274,000, will be paid for by Sudbury’s Community Preservation Act funds after the Selectmen voted to sign the contract. The CPA will contribute $256,000 while the rest is being paid for by an $18,000 donation from the Friends of Lincoln-Sudbury Softball.

The Board was caught offguard when the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional School Committee announced work on the field would have to begin a month earlier than planned.
