Selectmen to Vote on $58,000 Bruce Freeman Rail Trail Gift

Tuesday's meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. inside Lower Town Hall.

The Sudbury Board of Selectmen will be back in action on Tuesday night, hosting a meeting at 7:30 p.m. inside Lower Town Hall.

After several pieces of administrative business, board members will meet with Clifton Larson Allen, LLP, to discuss Fiscal Year audited financial statements.

Later in the evening at around 8:30 p.m. board members will take a vote on whether to accept a gift of $58,700 from Friends of the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail. In attendance will be Tom Michelman, who is president of the organization.

The money would be given to the town to "fund 100 percent of cost of a 25 percent design study in the Right of Way and according to MassDOT guidelines for the extension of the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail for the approximately half-mile segment of the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail from the Concord/Sudbury town line to the south side of Route 117 in Sudbury, plus a parking count for the Davis Field Recreation Field parking area," according to materials attached to the agenda.

A discussion with the Park & Recreation Commission regarding future development of Featherland recreation area is slated for 8:45 p.m.
