Multiple Lincoln-Sudbury Students Vying for Hood Scholarship

Residents can vote for candidates on the Hood website, with national winners receiving $5,000.

There are plenty of student-athletes in the halls of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School deserving of recognition.

Several Warriors in particular are close to receiving that recognition thanks to the annual Hood Sportsmanship Scholarship Program. But they need the community's help.

Ten Lincoln-Sudbury students are finalists for the national award, which will give the 18 winning entries $5,000 each.

Residents are encouraged to vote for the winner now through April 18 at 3 p.m. Each entry includes an essay on why the participant should be selected for the scholarship.

Lincoln-Sudbury's Tyler Barnes, for example, tells the story of how he prided himself as a respectful athlete on and off the field as the captain of the Warrior soccer team.

Barnes is joined by classmates and fellow Hood finalists Brianna Bisson, Samuel Colello, Jacob Goldman, Alison Joseph, Joshua Kerber, Molly McGavick, Alec Melamut, Rishij, and Gillian Vesely as Lincoln-Sudbury's representatives in the contest.
