Earlier this year, Assistant Superintendent of Schools Todd Curtis announced that he would be leaving his position for the private sector. Sudbury Public Schools is now one step closer to naming his replacement.

In an email to parents in the district on Thursday, schools officials announced that the Assistant Superintendent search is now down to three candidates.

Beth Gannon is currently the principal at Margaret Donovan School in Randolph, Doug Lyons is the principal of Reading's Walter S. Parker Middle School, and Kim Swain is the principal of Josiah Haynes Elementary School in Sudbury.

Each finalist will visit the district during the week of April 28, and while on their visit candidates will walk through classrooms, meet staff members and participate in a public meet and greet.

Meet and greet sessions for staff and parents will take place at the Senior Center, located at 40 Fairbank Road, and the details are as follows.
  • Kim Swain - Tuesday, April 29, from 5:30-6 p.m.
  • Beth Gannon - Wednesday, April 30, from 6-6:30 p.m.
  • Doug Lyons - Thursday, May 1, from 5:30-6 p.m.
Check back with Sudbury Patch for more details on the search as they become available.
