UPDATE: Measles Alert No Longer Applies to Sudbury

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health recently notified the local board of health that a suspected case of measles occurred in Sudbury.

Although Superintendent of Schools Anne Wilson issued a notice Monday night to the families of local students regarding a possible case of measles in Sudbury, Wilson now says Health Director Robert Leupold has informed her the alert no longer applies to Sudbury.

"I just received an update from Mr. Leupold, Health Director from the Sudbury Board of Health, that he was informed this evening by MDPH that the measles alert no longer applies to Sudbury," Wilson said in an email. "The alert by MDPH was initiated due to a suspected case of measles based on a test from a private lab.  When MDPH re-tested, the results were negative.  Therefore the alert no longer applies for Sudbury."

If you have questions or concerns, please contact Robert Leupold, Health Director for the Sudbury Board of Health at 978-440-5480 or 978-440-5479.
