Threat at Westford Academy Impacts Lincoln-Sudbury Sports Schedule

A threat was written on a wall at Westford Academy, and as a result students were sent home at 12:30 p.m., canceling athletic events scheduled for Tuesday.

Updated Wednesday at 5:20 a.m.: After a search of Westford Academy by police, it was determined there was nothing credible that could harm students and faculty at the school.

The girls lacrosse game originally scheduled for Tuesday between Westford Academy and Lincoln-Sudbury will take place on Wednesday. The varsity game takes place at 4 p.m. while JV takes the field at 5:30 p.m.

Original Story: Westford Academy students were dismissed at 12:30 p.m. due to a threat reportedly written on a bathroom wall.

Police remained on scene as of Tuesday afternoon and due to the incident, several Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School athletes will not play Grey Ghost teams on Tuesday as scheduled.

The Lady Warriors lacrosse team was scheduled for a showdown against perennial powerhouse Westford Academy at home with a 4 p.m. face off scheduled.

In addition, the freshman baseball team was scheduled to travel to Westford Academy for a 4 p.m. tilt, the girls JV lacrosse team was hosting the Grey Ghosts at 5:30 p.m. and the boys varsity tennis had a home match slated for 4 p.m. against Westford Academy.

However, following the threat at Westford Academy, the school's social media accounts indicated that the contests would not take place.

At 12:57 p.m. on Tuesday, Westford Academy tweeted that all co-curricular activities and athletics activities have been canceled. The school's athletics account tweeted at 1:07 p.m. that there will be no games or practices on Tuesday.
