Boys Lacrosse Faces Off Against Acton-Boxboro in North Division 1 Title Tuesday Night

The Warriors hope to advance to the Eastern Mass title game with a victory at Harvard Stadium.

The Lincoln-Sudbury boys lacrosse team is two victories away from a state title. On Tuesday night, they can drop their magic number to one, but they'll have to get through a familiar foe first.

Here are five things to get you ready for Tuesday night's North Division 1 title game.

1. Who, What, Where, When: The Np. 3 Warriors take on top-seeded Acton-Boxboro on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. under the lights of Harvard Stadium in the North Division 2 championship game. The winner of this contest advances to the state title game, which is scheduled for Saturday at Boston University against the South champion.

2. How the Warriors Got Here: Lincoln-Sudbury opened its playoff run with a 17-1 drubbing of Cambridge in the first round. That set up a quarterfinal meeting with North Andover, which the locals also won handily, 14-8. In the semifinal round, the third-seeded Warriors dominated No. 2 Westford Academy, 18-11, to advance to the title game.

3. How the Colonials Got Here: Acton-Boxboro earned a first round bye as the tournament's top seed. In the quarterfinal, they dispatched of St. John's Prep with no problem, winning 11-5. The Colonials' semifinal game was nearly identical, as they cruised past Andover, 11-4, to set up Tuesday's meeting.

4. When We Last Met: These two teams are certainly familiar with each other since they played twice in the regular season, with Acton-Boxboro narrowly edging Lincoln-Sudbury for the Dual County League crown. On April 17, the Warriors traveled and earned an 11-6 road win over Acton-Boxboro. But the Colonials exacted revenge on May 10, earning a 10-6 victory of their own.

5. Getting to Harvard: The Harvard Athletics Complex street address is 65 North Harvard Street, Boston. For more detailed directions, visit the Harvard athletics website.
