Sudbury Womans Club's 2/16 meeting features Pat Mullen speaking on The Sudbury Community Food Pantry

The Sudbury Womans Club's February 16th meeting will feature Patrick Mullen of Sudbury speaking about the Sudbury Community Food Pantry.  Pat retired as director of marketing from Digital Equipment Corp., established The Mullen Group and has been a long term, very active volunteer with the Food Pantry, the Sudbury FISH Program, as well as, the In-Home Fix-It program.

     The Food Pantry
has been in operation since March of 1990. Its distribution site is located at  Our Lady of Fatima Church at 160 Concord Road and it's a 100% volunteer organization where no volunteer has ever received any compensation for his/her time, travel or expenses. Its mission is to distribute free food to those who need it, without prerequisites, such as, needs tests or letters of referral. It is open to all who need their services and regularly assists clients from Sudbury and more than twelve other surrounding towns. The Pantry works  closely with the Sudbury Social Worker and receives support from individuals, schools, churches, synagogues, businesses and service organizations.

The club meets monthly from October to May on the third Thursday with most of the meetings at the Goodnow Library.  Its mission is to provide women with a means for philanthropy; they award a scholarship to a graduating senior from the Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School and make donations to various local causes, such as, the Sudbury Community Food Pantry and Hospice at Parmenter.

Sudbury and Wayland women are invited to attend our next meeting (and possibly join the club) at the Goodnow Library (parking is available at the rear)  which is located at 21 Concord Road  in Sudbury, just off the Boston Post Road (#US 20) in the town's business center.
