Expectations High for LS Boys Lacrosse Team

ESPNBoston.com ranks Lincoln-Sudbury as the No. 4 team in the state in its opening Top 25 poll.

Last year the Lincoln-Sudbury boys lacrosse team reached the East Division 1 championship game before falling to Xaverian. This year, expectations are high again for the Warriors.

ESPNBoston.com released its preseason boys lacrosse Top 25, and Lincoln-Sudbury sits near the top.

The Warriors are the No. 4 team in the rankings, behind Duxbury, Longmeadow and defending Division 1 champion Xaverian, which edged LS by a 9-5 margin in last year's title game.

"Last year's Division 1 state finalists will be back for more behind a Mr. Lacrosse contender in long-stick midfielder John Sexton and a tough defense bolstered by Matt Barker and Eamon Hunter," ESPNBoston.com said about the Warriors in its preseason poll.

Another local team finds itself ranked by ESPNBoston. The Lincoln-Sudbury baseball team comes in at No. 22 in the media organization's Top 25 list.
