Hat Trick By Sudbury Native Sparks Tri-City Storm to Victory

In the first period, Vecchione took a pass from Bonner and netted a turn-around shot from the top of the crease past Waterloo goalie Cal Peterson, tying the game 1-1.

He struck again later in the period on the power play. Again taking a pass from Tim Bonner, he faked a shot and then fired a blast from the left circle using a screen from teammate Tim Lappin to beat Peterson for the second time in the period.

Vecchione is a free agent for the NHL.
