The Lincoln Sudbury Girls Track & Field team had an impressive showing at Saturday's MSTCA Division 1 State Relays finishing 4th in the large-school competition. The meet is an all-relay format which emphasizes team depth - one that the Lady Warriors have excelled at over the years.
Lucy Alexander, Meaghan Klapper and Kristin Kimble led the way with their 1st place finish in the high-jump relay.
Other team points were scored by the following relay teams: 2nd place 4x800 relay (Katie Lascaleia, Morgane Butler, Meri Kohler and Brianna Bisson), 2nd place in the Distance Medley Relay (Katie Lascaleia, Elise Hinkle, Ariel Keklak and Sydney Clary), 4th place in the 4x800 relay (Bryn Miller, Sarah Mepham, Ariel Keklak, Sydney Clary), 6th place in the 4x400 Relay (Katharine Malone, Brianna Bisson, Kaileigh Maguire, Morgane Butler) and 7th place in the 4x200 Relay (Kaileigh Maguire, Katie Lee, Mandy Sifferlen and Clara Bisson)
Coach Henry Phelan was pleased with the results.
"The state relays are an important team-bonding event and our performance was pretty good," he said. "The MSTCA field is a strong one with all of the big schools showing up with their best athletes so it was good to compete against the best. But, we still have some work to do if we are going to challenge for end of season titles in the coming weeks."
Notes: The Girls Track & Field Team has 3 wins and 1 loss this season.
