“I think what makes our team so wonderful is how we grow as a team throughout the season and work together to reach common goals. But most importantly we have so much fun and work hard while doing so,” Perry said.

Jarcyk, MacKeen, McCabe, and Perry are excited to lead the girls team this year. Last year the team came in fourth at the Dual County League Championships and second at States. The team hopes to improve upon these very strong results this year.

Even though a couple of very successful swimmers graduated, the returning swimmers will continue to improve and fill the void.  The girls captains are part of a large returning group of ten senior girls, many of whom have been swimming together since elementary school.  MacKeen, McCabe and Perry were part of the postseason team last year at Sectionals and States.  Other returning postseason swimmers include juniors Jenny Genovese and Caroline Hultin, and sophomore Ansley Baker.

The incoming group of freshman girls is large and is expected to make significant contributions this season. The girls diving team hopes to continue its strong performance from last year.  Sophomore Kim Yang and senior Emma Jarczyk placed first and second at DCLs respectively with junior Clara Shealey also diving very well.

Dylan Brown, Taylor Brown and Matt Shelley are leading the boys this year.  Last year the boys team won DCLs for the second time in a row and finished second at sectionals and fourth at states behind rival St. John’s Prep.

The boys team graduated many strong swimmers. This year’s team will work hard to improve their times and try for a third consecutive league title.  The captains are part of a class of five senior boys. They will lead a fast returning team that has many post-season swimmers including junior Tom Edwards, and sophomores Chris Wilkins, Jake Hogan and Ricky Billig.  The team will expect the incoming freshmen boys to work hard and help the team. The returning divers for the boys are Tommy Novick and Kevin Henderson. The divers did well last year and hope to improve this season.

Both the girls and boys teams have been working hard during the fall to get ready for the season and they plan to have another great year.

“I think I speak for all of the captains when I say how truly excited we are for what this season holds," Perry said. "We have a strong senior class as well as returning swimmers and divers, along with an extremely promising incoming freshman class.”

The annual Dual County League relay meet kicks off the season on Friday at Atkinson Pool.

The head coach of the Lincoln-Sudbury Swim and Dive team is Ann Boudrot, returning for her 10th season.  This year she will be joined by assistant coach Caroline Singler and Shawn Powers will coach the dive team.
