Lincoln-Sudbury Boys Basketball Advances in Tournament

The Warriors thumped visiting Doherty by a 66-52 margin.

The Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School boys basketball team cruised past visiting Doherty on Monday night in the opening game of the Central Division 1 tournament.

While Doherty took the lead early in the contest, the Warriors finished the first half strong and pulled away in the second half for a 66-52 victory.

Leading the way for Lincon-Sudbury was James Mortimer with 18 points. Also Robert Katz dropped in 12 points while Jordan Day and Sam Casey each chipped in 10 points apiece.

Thanks to the victory, No. 7 Lincoln-Sudbury advanced to the quarterfinal round where they face a steep task. The Warriors, now 13-8 on the year, take on St. John's, the bracket's No. 2 seed that boasts an 18-4 record.

That game is scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m. with St. John's hosting the quarterfinal tilt.
