LS Wrestlers Prove to be Among New England's Best

The New England wrestling meet was held this weekend in Providence, and the Warriors finished tied for sixth place.

The best wrestlers in New England were on display over the last two days in Providence, R.I. And thanks to strong performances on the mat, the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School wrestlers who qualified for the event proved that they belonged in that category as well.

The Warriors finished tied for sixth place out of 10 teams at the New England high school wrestling championships at the Providence Career and Technical Center. Lincoln-Sudbury notched a total of 55 points.

Mount Anthony of Vermont continued its recent dominance as it earned first place among all the teams at New Englands.

Individually, Mac Hamilton had the strongest day for the Warriors. He took home first place at 113 pounds by sneaking by Cam Kelly of Franklin by a 3-2 margin.

Also making a lengthy run towards the top of the competition was Nico Dionisotty, who was edged by a Connecticut wrestler, 5-2, in the finals of the 182-pound weight class.
