Several LS Track and Field Athletes Set for State Championship Meet

The state championship meet will take place Saturday at Bridgewater State University.

It's been a stellar spring season for Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School sports teams. And the track and field team is no exception.

Several Warrior athletes competed last weekend and performed well enough to keep their season going by qualifying for the state championship meet, which will be held on Saturday at Bridgewater State University.

Ben Collelo will compete in the 110-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles, an event which he won a Division 1 Eastern Massachusetts title in.

In addition, Tom Rhines will participate in the triple jump, Aaron Corin in the pole vault, and the 4x400 meter relay team of Colello, Nick Virkler, Otto Zaccardo, and Nick Ackley will also represent Lincoln-Sudbury.

For the girls team, Sydney Clary won the two-mile run to qualify for this weekend's event, Ariel Keklak was second in the one-mile run, and freshman Alexa Babick also qualified for this weekend's event thanks to her one-mile performance.

In addition, the 4x800 meter relay team of Clary, Keklak, Babick and Morgane Butler will also run. That relay team earned a second place finish to qualify for the state championship meet.
