Standout Sudbury Resident Named to All-District Team at Georgetown University

Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School graduate Andrea Keklak is among the best 800-meter college runners in the country.

Andrea Keklak is making plenty of noise with the Georgetown University track and field team. And recently, Keklak added another item to her already stellar resume.

Last week the Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School graduate, who is a junior at Georgetown University, was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Track & Field Team.

The announcement was made by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday.

A sociology major, Keklak excelled in the indoor track season, establishing herself among the top 800-meter runners on the Division 1 scene. At the indoor national meet earlier this year, she was fourth overall at the 800-meter event.

Keklak competed over the weekend at the East Preliminary of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Jacksonville, Fla.

Georgetown qualified a record 29 track and field athletes for the Florida event, a record for the program.

While at Lincoln-Sudbury, Keklak was the third-ranked 800-meter runner in the country, and the top-ranked 1,000-meter runner in the nation.
