Sudbury Native Mike Salk Moving on From WEEI

The sports talk radio host is returning to Seattle, where he previously hosted a successful radio show.

The voice on WEEI sports radio that may have sounded familiar to Sudbury residents will no longer be heard on Boston's airwaves.

Mike Salk, the Sudbury native and co-host of "Salk and Holley" on WEEI 93.7 FM announced at the end of one of his shows last week that he will leaving his role to return to his previous employer across the country.

After resigning from WEEI, Salk announced that he will be returning to 710 ESPN Seattle as the program director and on-air host. Salk took over at WEEI about a year ago for Big Show host Glen Ordway, who was let go due to low ratings.

Salk's exact on-air role in Seattle has yet to be determined, but in 2009 he helped launch the station and was the co-host of "Brock and Salk" with former NFL quarterback Brock Huard.

"I could not be more excited about this unique opportunity and the new challenge of running the programming at 710 ESPN Seattle," Salk said in an announcement made by 710 AM. "Even though I left Seattle last year, it never ceased being home. 710 ESPN Seattle is a nationally renowned sports station and this opportunity to lead it is an honor. The people in that building are special and I can't wait to reconnect with all of them."
