The figure skating duo of Sudbury resident Simon Shnapir and Marissa Castelli — two time U.S. Champions who appeared in the Olympics together, finishing ninth — have ended their figure skating partnership.

Castelli, a Cranston, R.I., native, said their pairing, which has skated together for eight years, led them on an amazing journey and she "wouldn't change it for anything," the Associated Press reported.

The pair finished ninth in the Olympics and helped lead the U.S. Figure Skating team to a bronze medal in the team event.

Both skaters are trying out new partners.
