Good question! After 9/11 a group of interested citizens got together and tried to come up with aRead More way to generate a response to 9/11 from Sudbury. Both the Sudbury 9/11 Memorial Garden and HOPEsudbury are offshoots from that effort. Funds from the the first telethon supported a firehouse in NYC that had heavy casualties in 9/11 and employed a former Sudbury firefighter. Since then HOPEsudbury's efforts have included an annual drive in support of local soldiers and has donated funds to non-profits supporting returning soldiers in addition to our primary role of raising funds to support those with emergency financial need in Sudbury.
