Sudbury Man Who Drove Onto Willis Lake Facing 2 Charges

Resident will be summonsed to court at a later date.

The Sudbury resident who drove a white sedan onto frozen Willis Lake on Jan. 24 will face two charges, the Sudbury Police Department announced today. According to Lt. Robert Grady, the 27-year-old male will be summonsed to court at a later date and be charged with: Grady said the resident's name can't be released until after his arraignment. On Jan. 24 emergency personnel responded to Willis Lake after receiving a report of a car stuck on the ice just after midnight. The male driver and his female companion were transported to Emerson Hospital for precautionary reasons, Lt. Scott Nix said at the time. UPDATE: 2 Sudbury Residents Hospitalized After Driving Car Onto Willis Lake [VIDEO]

Towing machine breaks ice and is partly submerged.

UPDATE: 4:15 p.m. A male and female who drove a car onto frozen Willis Lake around midnight were transported to Emerson Hospital for precautionary reasons, Sudbury Police Lt. Scott Nix said. "There were two people in the car, male and female, both Sudbury, in their mid 20s," Nix said. The case is under investigation for pending charges and to find out their reasoning for having the car on lake, Nix said.
