Sudbury Becomes More Energy Efficient

Solar-powered trash compactors won't need to be emptied as often.

Disposing of trash in Sudbury will be more energy efficient starting today with the installation of three solar trash compactors. Sudbury is one of 35 cities and towns named as green communities by the Department of Energy Resources. The town was eligible to request for a grant to make the state more energy efficient. The "Big Belly" compactors that will be powered by the sun will not need to be emptied as often.  The compactors are being installed at Featherland Little Little Field, Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School and Haskell Field.
