Especially for Pets Splash-A-Thon a Hit With Local Dogs

Summer fundraiser for Buddy Dog features dunking for biscuits, agility challenges and free dog treats.

On Saturday, Aug. 6, area dogs cooled off at the Especially for Pets Splash-A-Thon fundraiser for Buddy Dog Humane Society. The event featured two outdoor swimming pools, an air-conditioned indoor agility course and free dog treats, including canine-compatible frozen yogurt. In the outdoor pools, Especially for Pets staff held several rounds of "bobbing for treats," complete with awards to four-legged participants who retrieved a biscuit from the bottom of a pool. Proceeds from the Splash-A-Thon will be donated to Buddy Dog. The event was an opportunity for attendees to give back, since many of them were adopted at Buddy Dog. Photos of some of the guests and activities appear above.
